These extremely hard alloys are constructed for highly corrosive and abrasive conditions and high temperatures. Different alloys have different degrees of corrosive and wear resistant materials to ensure excellent wear performance qualities. Bimetallic Barrels are made by by placing an alloy inside a carbon steel backing cylinder, sealing the ends and heating it at a temperature high enough to melt only the alloy inside. The hot barrel is then rotated at high speed, and centrifugally coats the inside diameter with the lining alloy. The liner and backing material creates an inseparable metallurgical bond.
