Selecting the properly sized machine is as important as selecting the right components for it. At Eurohansa, Inc., we analyze each application individually based on the information you supply. Most of the time, this does not even require on-site visits or meetings, although we welcome the opportunity to visit your plant for personal, one-on-one discussions. Your type and volume of material helps to determine the size of the machine you will need as well as which rotor & cutter design. Below are two of the different rotor & cutters we select from. Typically; in our smaller machines (ZTLL 24 – ZTLP 40) the rotors are 15”. In machine sizes ZTLP 47 & up, the rotors could be 18”, 27”, 31” even 47” diameter!

Our shredders are equipped with solid steel rotors mounted in double-tapered roller bearings which are housed in machined steel housings. For plastics, rubber, fiber and like materials which produce abrasive dust, the housings are outboard (low-block). For wood, paper, and other less abrasive applications, these housings are flange mounted. These large  cutting circles ensure that our shredder gets the job done where most others fail miserable. Our solid steel rotors are machined flat, offering 60% more surface area than other shredders. This avoids heat trapping and also helps to dissipate frictional heat build up.

The ZENO Horizontal grinders are extra heavy-duty machines used to size-reduce long rippings, strips, profiles and other forms of scrap materials in the wood and plastic industry.

Available in over 30 standard sizes with infeed openings ranging from 10” up to 80” wide, ZENO manufacturers these Horizontal grinders to suit virtually any application. From 200 lbs./h. up to high volume installations requiring throughput capacities of up to 40 tons/hr. Available in high and low speed versions, these units can be equipped with as many as four different cutting tool devices on an unlimited array of rotor diameters, all depending on the customer’s requirements.

Typically installed in-line with production equipment, the ZENO Horizontal grinders are feed via a Vibrating Infeed Table (available in any length). Once the material is at the in-feed throat, serrated steel infeed rollers grab the material and bring it into the cutting chamber. The infeed rollers, ranging from 2 to 8 (depending on the size and volume capabilities of the unit, are located on the top and the bottom at the infeed throat. All are gear-driven and infeed controlled through a completely wired PLC Panel. The bottom rollers are in a fixed position, while the top rollers float, constantly adjusting to height of the incoming material.

Here is a ZENO Horizontal Grinder equipped for a low speed application to operate in a low noise environment. Most manufacturers who offer horizontal grinders claim to have low speed, low noise units available. But at ZENO, we do not consider 400 RPM as a low speed unit. When you need true noise control, you need the ZENO model ZMTH-L. At only 150 RPM, this is the only true low noise horizontal grinder available.

A common problem is the one that involves long strips, edgings or profiles that are not coming off of just one piece of production equipment, but are bundled or carted from all over the plant. To remain cost effective, scrap/waste should not be handled more than absolutely necessary. In the past, everything had to be brought to a centralized grinder and hand fed into a hammermill, or placed into the vibrating infeed table of the hog. Not anymore! We can equip your unit to receive entire bundles of PVC profiles, edgings or rips with our Bundle Feed Loader! Simply drop your bundle into the ample trough, cut & pull the banding and let this chain-and-slat driven unit feed those strips, profiles and edgings automatically!

Another common problem is having all those strips, but lots of small scrap too. And everybody knows that batch-dumping onto a vibrating conveyor never works. If you have a lot of long stuff, but you also collect smaller scrap from all over your plant, you might consider this vibrating dozier! This unique system connects to the infeed conveyor and shakes the material into the trough for a controlled feed of batch-dumped materials. If you have a problem, we have a solution.

Long stuff and batch-dumping small stuff but at very high volumes? We have that covered as well. This unit can be built to almost any capacity. Using self-dumping hoppers, front-end loaders, whatever you’ve got, simply dump your scrap into this hopper and let our heavy-duty chain-drag system do the rest. Pictured at right, is this unit which is off-loading into a ZPS sifter. The angle of the chain-drag unit can be raised or lowered, depending on the discharge height we need to obtain.

A ZENO Dual Shaft Shredder is being used here as a pre-breaker in a wood application. Typically, The dual-shaft systems are used in the tire industry, in conjunction with several other processing steps. The Dual-shaft machines are being replaced in most other industries, with the single-shaft shredders, where you have much more control over the out-coming material size. Where necessary, rely on ZENO for your Dual-shaft needs. These heavy duty machines are powered by two main motors turning through extra-heavy-duty gearboxes to provide tremendous torque to the dual rotor system.

Un-questionable, ZENO’s cutting tool system is the most solid and reliable system available, offering easily maintained and exchangeable cutting devices. Special combs keep this system free of tangles and jams during the powerful crushing and shredding process.

ZENO offers the dual-shaft units in several different sizes to meet the demands and expectations of the customers. Complete lay-out and system designs are available for stationary or mobile units.

For Construction & demolition debris, forestry, and other hard to process waste and scrap where pre-breaking is necessary, you should also consider the ZDV Twin –Rotor Breaker. Call us today for a free, comprehensive and reliable recommendation for your specific application today.

As the cost of virgin resins are ever in flux, successful manufacturers all over the world have realized the value of in-house reclaiming of their plastic scrap for re-use in the manufacturing process. Likewise, recycler’s of plastic materials (also called ‘toll-grinders’)  have made a business of reclaiming plastic waste and selling the recycled pellets back to the manufacturers. Of course to be successful in either venture, means choosing the right machine’s for the job - not only to generate the required end-product, but to generate it cheaply & consistently.

What is cheaply? To arrive at a concrete conclusion, the up-front cost of the equipment must be taken into consideration. But should not be the deciding factor. Where one equipment line might be cheaper up-front, the manpower, maintenance & longevity issues of his ‘inexpensive line’ might cost you the farm!

Whether you are a recycler of plastics, or a manufacturer who is contemplating installing your own reclaim line, Eurohansa can take the guess work out of choosing the right machinery for your application. We offer single machine’s, or complete & automated lines. Here are the basic components of a plastics recycling or reclaim line;

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The ZTLP series, low noise, low speed, single-shaft shredders have become the most popular addition to any reclaim or recycling system. These heavy-duty shredders allow for ‘batch-dumping’ of  materials, whether in baled or loose form, eliminating the need of a full-time operator. Using conveyors, self dumping hoppers, front-end loaders, even Gaylord Box Dumper units, these units are Program Logic Controlled to perform all functions of the grinding process without the need of supervision. So the guy that has been standing there hand-feeding that granulator is a thing of the past. (Savings? A $30k salary per year!)
The ZENO Shredders are the culmination of more than 25 years of manufacturing and application experience, which show in every detail of these heavy-duty machines. Packed with design features and engineering know-how, the ZTLP shredder is available in more than 30 different (standard) sizes to suit virtually any application. For throughput capacities from 200 lbs./hr. up to 20,000 lbs./hr. with your choice of classifying screens from ½” up to 4”, ZENO through Eurohansa, Inc delivers the right machine for your application. In some cases, the ZTLP Shredders can be used in a stand-alone capacity, reducing your scrap to the required particle size in just on step. Depending on your requirements, you may require a two-step system, in which a traditional knife-type granulator is needed. We do work with several top manufacturers and we can supply the complete turn-key system if needed. To compliment the installation, we carry a wide variety of auxiliary equipment such as infeed and discharge conveyors, metal detection & separation devices, automatic box-dumpers. Down stream equipment such as secondary grinders, storage silo’s, blowers, cyclone’s and fines separation equipment.
While the Hopper type machines are the best solution for batch-dumping materials (Gaylord boxes, bales, etc.), It is not the answer in every case.
Where long scrap such as PVC profiles are involved, we offer the ZTH Horizontal Feed units to provide the user with a one step, size reduction system. A vibrating In-feed table (available in any length) transports the materials into the cutting chamber, via our gear-driven, feed controlled, infeed rollers. Add a Bundle Feed Loading Station to completely eradicate costly personnel to feed scrap into a traditional type granulator. Pneumatic extraction or conveyor discharge. A ZENO Dual Shaft Shredder . The dual-shaft systems are used mainly in the tire industry today; in conjunction with several other processing steps. The Dual-shaft machines are being replaced in most other industries, with the introduction of the ZENO model ZTLP single-shaft shredders where you have much more control over the out-coming material size. Because the ZTLP can be equipped with the increased rotor diameters, we no longer rely on dual-shaft units for large bulky parts.
Where necessary, rely on ZENO for your Dual-shaft needs. These heavy duty machines are powered by two main motors turning through extra-heavy-duty gearboxes to provide tremendous torque to the dual rotor system, with a much simpler and more easily exchangeable cutter system. High speed – knife type – Granulators are the most widely used and preferred method of size-reduction equipment. Typically, these machines are located near the production equipment or in some central location where someone is paid to feed scrap into the machine all day. More & more, people are adding a shredder to this line, to automate & stream-line the scrap reclaim systems, but the Granulators still play a major roll. Where Shredders are incorporated, the user has the ability to reclaim every form of scrap generated. (like purgings) In order to produce smaller particles required by some extruders, the material would be transported by conveyor, into a secondary size-reduction unit. I.e. A Granulator. We do offer a wide variety of knife-type granulators for this purpose, available from your manufacturer of choice through Eurohansa, Inc.
An alternative to Shredder/Granulator combinations, is a miracle machine by ZENO. The ZSM Cutting mill! Our patented system and revolutionary design has been well received in Europe, where recycling is a way of life. Now offered on the North American market by Eurohansa, Inc. the ZENO model ZSM offers over 6000 hours of service before a tool change is necessary! A wide variety of unique design features and options are available on these beauties. Not for every type of material and only available in several sizes, this will not be the cheapest machine you’ll price, but with 6000 hours between cutter changes – well – you do the math.
Of course your specific needs will require specific components in the line. Some will need ferrous and non-ferrous separation, some will not. Some might need fines separators, some won’t. & so on. Whatever your needs, we have the proper equipment for the job. Contact us for a free evaluation and quote.
Whatever your application or material, we have the right machine & components for your size-reduction and product reclaim application.
For rubber applications, ZENO offers a variety of different machine types to size-reduce this difficult product. Traditionally achieved with Dual-shaft shredders (As above) rubber and automobile tires can also be size-reduced with a ZTLP, Low Noise, Single-shaft shredder! The trouble with Dual-shaft systems is that you do not have the ability to regulate the out coming material size. In other words, the material will be cut to same width of the cutters used, but the length of the strips can’t be controlled. When possible, a ZTLP Shredder is the answer.
With certain materials the dual-shaft system is the way to go. And if you have to go – go ZENO. The ZENO dual shaft system is much easier to maintain than traditional dual-shaft shredders. Check out the solid-built and patented cutting tool devices above. The unique ‘combs’ incorporated here, makes sure that stringy material (even steel) gets cleaned off of the cutting tools with each pass.
Tire shredders for the tire recycling industry or for rubber recycling and rubber manufacturers reclaim applications. Automobile tire shredders are the main. Truck tires require additional equipment. For automobile tire recy
