APV BAKER - BREAKFAST CEREAL TECHNOLOGY FOR THE PRODUCTION OF CORN, BRAN, RICE, WHEAT, BARLEY AND OAT BASED CEREALS

APV Baker is a world leader in the design, manufacture, installation and commissioning of complete systems and unit machines for flaked, shredded and expanded breakfast cereals. Our cereal technology includes rotary cereal cookers, twin screw cooker extruders, flaking rolls, toasters, coating systems and vitamin addition systems for all corn, bran, rice, wheat, barley and oat based cereal production. In addition to traditional breakfast cereals we also manufacture lines for producing health bars and cereal based baby foods.

APV Baker cereal equipment is operational throughout Europe, Asia, North America, South America, Australia and Asia from entry-level systems to high capacity units.

ROTARY COOKER LINES FOR FLAKED AND SHREDDED BREAKFAST CEREALS

Our rotary cereal cooker, flaking rolls and toaster form the foundation of some of the world's largest cereal production lines. The traditional rotary cereal-cooking method can provide outputs from between 250kg/hr to over 3,000kg/hr. This process method mixes, dries, tempers and buffers the product prior to flaking or shredding. The patented advanced roll cooling system and precise gap control of our flaking roll ensures consistent quality flakes at high output. After forming our gentle toaster technology expands and colours the product whilst minimising breakage and scrap.

COOKER EXTRUDER LINES FOR EXPANDED AND CO-EXTRUDED BREAKFAST CEREALS

Twin-screw cooker extruder technology optimises production flexibility providing cereal manufacturers with a wealth of new product opportunities. Co-extruded products with cream filled centres, 3D shapes and expanded cereals can all be produced by utilising specialist die and crimping technologies.

Process flexibility means our range of twin-screw extruders can also be used to produce flaked and shredded cereals.

HEALTH, CEREAL AND GRANOLA BAR LINES

Cereal bars are a particularly large market growth area with consumer trends towards healthier lifestyles and foods 'on the move'. The APV Baker health, cereal and granola bar production equipment has been specifically developed to meet these needs. Our process lines are capable of producing various bar types including moulded or shaped; extruded; and filled. All bar types can be baked on our range of radiant, convection and hybrid ovens.

CEREAL COATING SYSTEMS

APV Baker offers systems for both 'high' and 'low' solids coating, with either sugar or sugar-free coatings. Low solids are used for frosted and glazed flakes, rice and direct expanded cereals. Products such as puffed wheat require high solids coating, where the moisture within the coating might migrate into the cereal and collapse the structure.

Our leading edge innovation centres in Peterborough, UK and Grand Rapids, USA offer a comprehensive range of test facilities. Here we encourage customers to conduct product development work, feasibility research or produce samples for test market trials.
