Water Pollution Control Technology in JAPAN

Screw Pump

[Outline ]

Since the principle of a screw pump was invented by Archimedes about 200 B.C., the screw pump has been utilized to lift water for irrigation or drainage. Particularly, this type of pump has been widely employed and improved in Holland where drainage is always a serious problem. With recent developments in sewage treatment, screw pumps are rapidly going acceptance; as the optimum pump type. In order to meet increasing demand, we are manufacturing reliable, cost-saving screw pumps in technical collaboration with Landustrie Sneek, b.v. of Holland which has more than 60 years of experience in this field.

[Features]

(1) The life of the pump is almost constant due to low-speed rotation and simple
mechanism .
(2) Maintenance and inspection is very easy because of the pump's open design.
(3) Both automatic remote control and intermittent automatic operation can be done
very easily.
(4) The pump will never clog up with solids or sand.
(5) It is unnecessary to adjust the discharge with an outlet valve because the discharge
of the pump is automatically controlled in accordance with the inlet water level.
(6) The pump efficiency is hardly influenced by flow fluctuation because its high and
wide performance range.
(7) The suction pit in the system can be extremely shallow.

[Uses]

A wide range of applications
- For drainage and sewage pumps in sewage pumping stations and sewage treatment plants.
- As a sludge pumps in sewage treatment plants.
- As a pumps used in water treatment plants.
- As an intake water pump for various industrial plants.
- As an industrial waste pump in water treatment systems.
- As an intake pump for irrigation systems.
- As a pump for land reclamation and other drainage systems.
