Aquafeed.com

Who We Are

Hello, I am Suzi Fraser Dominy. I created Aquafeed.com in November 1999 to fill a gaping black hole in information for the commercial aquaculture feed sector - and to provide a means for aquafeed industry professionals to communicate with one another.

I became aware of a groundswell of interest in aquaculture feed throughout 15 years of editing and publishing magazines for the international animal feed and grain sectors, for a U.K.-based publishing company. By the middle of the 1990s it seemed aquafeed was all anyone in feed and agribusiness wanted to talk about: I was besieged with aquafeed questions and there was just nowhere to go to get ready answers. Indeed, the aquafeed sector had no real identity, falling somewhere between aqua farming and animal feed production.

In 1998 I moved from U.K. to Hawai'i, (married an aquaculture feeds processing research specialist!) and decided the time had come to create an information resource and marketing tool that would be widely read, offer current information of interest to the commercial aquafeed industry and provide a cost-effective medium for suppliers to get their message to their aquafeed clients. The result was Aquafeed.com.

In January 2001, I had the good fortune to be reunited with an old friend, John Brown, formerly the Technical Sales and Marketing director of Satake U.K. (formerly Henry Simon.) He, like me, was by then independent and I was delighted when he agreed to join me to handle the advertising sales on Aquafeed.com. As a milling engineer and experienced sales and marketing executive, John understands what our clients need from their advertising and marketing efforts.

The response has been overwhelming. In fact, our visitor numbers and the volume of information produced have grown so much that our original website became inadequate. So, with the help of our website maintenance partners, WebPageMaintenance, we relaunched our new format website at the end of 2002. Our aim is the same: to save you time, to give you the information you need to do your job and to provide the most visible and cost effective medium for suppliers to market their products and services to the aquafeed sector. Now, with our new website, we provide for the first time, an effective means for aquafeed manufacturers to market feeds to farmers with the FEED FINDER.

Zandra Andersen joined Aquafeed.com in July 2003 as our representative in
Scandinavia. With a degree in business management and a background in exhibition
operations management, Zandra is well equipped to help you make the best choices for product and company marketing on Aquafeed.com.
A native English speaker with a good command of Danish, Zandra will also be very happy to help perfect your English in your banners, articles or literature, for a truly professional presentation.

If your business is in Scandinavia, please contact Zandra for all advertising and editorial help: zandra@aquafeed.com

We are always here to help: please contact me if you have any problems with the website, want to contribute information or have suggestions on how we could do better. I look forward to hearing from you.
